MY STORY

Im a positive, compassionate woman with a big spirit. Im curious by nature and a child at heart. I love to learn, to think, and discuss ideas and all manner of things. Im serious about issues I feel strongly about and I love to be playful, to laugh, and to be silly as can be. I place great value on integrity, honesty, empathy, trusting instincts, and good manners. Im a cultural anthropologist by training and Im interested in, and care deeply about, people, politics, societal affairs and conditions in the world. I love to travel to other countries and see the fascinating variation in the ways people live their lives. I love music and my tastes are wildly eclectic from classical to jazz, Latin to world and electronica. I have the old jazz standards in my blood thanks to my mother, I adore Cuban big band from the 40s, Tom Waits, Al Green, Sinatra and Ennio Morecone. I have a deep love of all the arts, including painting, poetry, design, architecture, and film. I watch television infrequently, but I enjoy PBS, news programs and documentaries. Convertibles and motorcycles especially on country roads are a great joy, but in real life, Im a contented bicyclist. I have an elegant style about me and love the opportunity to slip into a gorgeous dress and stunning heels. But Im also part tomboy and love to compete with the boys and get dirty in the back yard. I have excellent taste and appreciate all the fine things in life, but Im not materialistic. I love Europe, children, lakes, the woods, days at the ocean, and dinner parties with dear friends although I wish I had a bigger circle of these. Im studying Spanish and this is a highlight in my life. I also love to dance and cook, and nutrition and real food are an important part of my life but a good diner is great fun too.
